Reykjavík: Golden Circle Afternoon Small Group Tour — Kalman Tours

Would this be cheaper direct? No — we sell at Kalman Tours's own price and take our commission from them, not from you. What you get here is one checkout across operators, one confirmation, and one place to change or cancel it. If you ever find it cheaper on their own site, tell us and we will match it or explain why we cannot.

About this experience

Discover Iceland’s iconic Golden Circle on a carefully curated small group journey that blends powerful waterfalls, geological wonders, ancient history, and a relaxing geothermal lagoon experience. This tour captures the true essence of Iceland — from dramatic landscapes shaped by nature’s raw forces to tranquil warm waters designed for unwinding.

Your adventure begins in Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Iceland’s story began. Here, the world’s oldest parliament, Alþingi, was founded in 930. Þingvellir is also a geological marvel, where you can walk between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates as they slowly drift apart.

Continue into Iceland’s geothermal heart at the Geysir area, where steaming vents, bubbling mud pools, and colorful mineral deposits surround you. Witness Strokkur geyser erupt every few minutes, shooting hot water high into the air — a powerful display of the Earth’s energy.

Next, experience the breathtaking Gullfoss waterfall, one of Iceland’s most iconic sights. This two-tiered waterfall plunges into a rugged canyon, often creating rainbows in the mist on sunny days.

You’ll then enjoy a relaxing lunch stop at Friðheimar, a unique greenhouse restaurant where tomatoes are grown year-round using geothermal energy. Dine among the plants and taste their famous tomato soup and freshly baked bread, along with other fresh, locally inspired dishes.

To end the day, unwind at Laugarás Lagoon, a peaceful geothermal spa surrounded by countryside. With warm mineral-rich waters and a calm atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to relax after a full day of exploration.

With a small group setting, you’ll enjoy a more personal and comfortable experience, more time at each location, and a relaxed pace throughout the day — far from the crowds.

Good to know

Know before you go:

In case of bad weather conditions such as heavy rains or thunderstorms, the activity provider may have to cancel the tour. In this case, you will be offered another date or a full refund.

Cancellation for this tour

Cancelling costs 30% of the price within 15 days of departure. If the operator cancels for weather or safety, you get a full refund or a new date.

If the weather cancels this tour

Iceland's weather is real. What usually stops this one is a forecast the operator judges unsafe. Here is exactly what happens to your booking.

  1. 1Kalman Tours decides, and tells us. Operators cancel when it is unsafe or pointless, and we back that call every time — we do not ask them to run anyway.
  2. 2We contact you by email, and by phone if your tour is the same or next day. You choose: another date if there is one you can make, or a full refund. There is no fee and nothing to argue.
  3. 3The refund goes back to the card you paid with, through Stripe, usually visible within a few working days. If this tour was one of several in your booking, the others are untouched.

What you do not get is the day back. If this is the only free day in your plan, put a spare day next to it — the planner leaves days free with the rest-day option. And if you want out because the forecast looks bad, that is your own cancellation: free until the cutoff shown above, the operator's policy after that.
