What tours actually cost in Iceland

These are the real prices we sell at, pulled from 1717 tours across 154 Icelandic operators — not estimates. "Typical" is the middle price, which is more useful than an average that one helicopter flight can drag upwards. Per person, in euros, tax included. Updated 13 September 2026.

Travelling with children?

59% of these tours have a child fare, typically 30% below the adult price — so a family of four costs far less than four times the headline. Real child fares per activity, and the minimum ages operators set.

The cheapest change you can make

Meet the guide on location instead of being collected from your hotel. On the tours where we have enough of both to compare, that is the difference between paying for the activity and paying for the whole day out.

What hotel pickup actually costs

Every tour records whether it collects you or meets you there, so this is a measurement rather than an opinion. Median price per person, day tours, private and charter trips excluded — and only where at least ten tours exist on both sides.

A coach seat is a real cost, not a markup — so this is a reason to hire a car for the South Coast and Golden Circle, not a reason to distrust the pickup price.

Why the same tour has three different prices

Nearly always: how you get there and how many people are in the vehicle. A glacier hike that meets you at the ice costs a fraction of the same hike with hotel pickup and an eleven-hour bus day attached — you are paying for the day, not the glacier. A coach with forty people is cheaper than a minibus with fourteen, which is cheaper than a super jeep with six.

What we add

Nothing. You pay the operator's price; they pay us a commission out of it. There is no booking fee on this site, and the price at checkout is the price you pay.

Where the money goes if you cancel

Back to you, in full, on most tours if you cancel more than 24 hours ahead. The exact rule is the operator's and it's printed on every tour page.
