Questions people ask
How do you decide which operators to compare?
We take each activity, keep the operators with at least two comparable per-person tours in it, rank them the way every shelf on this site is ranked, and compare the strongest names. Private charters, vehicle-priced tours, gear hire, admission tickets and multi-day packages are left out, because they are not comparable with a seat on a day tour.
Are these paid placements?
No. We are paid the same commission by every operator we sell for, and the winner of each comparison is computed from the figures rather than chosen. Several of these pages conclude that the operator with the bigger name is the dearer buy.
Why is my operator not here?
Either we do not have a contract with them, or they sell fewer than two comparable tours in the category, which is too little to compare fairly. We are a small reseller and our catalogue is not everything sold in Iceland.
