Turning a layover into a stopover
Icelandair runs a stopover programme on its flights between North America and Europe: you can break the journey in Iceland for a few nights, usually without paying more for the flight. The number of nights, fares and conditions are Icelandair's to set, so check them on its own site when you book.
PLAY also offered stopovers, but the airline stopped flying in September 2025. Older articles still mention it — treat any PLAY stopover advice as out of date.
We have no arrangement with either airline.
