Landmannalaugar is the rhyolite basin at the start of the Laugavegur trail — reds, pinks, greens and yellows in the rock, hot springs at the bottom, and 4x4-only roads in. A private twelve-hour day from Reykjavík with a guide-photographer, including transport, parking and five edited photographs per person. Priced for the group at €1,354, so the arithmetic depends entirely on how many of you there are. Summer only, because the roads simply are not open otherwise. Departs 08:30, free cancellation to 72 hours. Bring a day pack, waterproofs, warm layers, food and water — this is a day in the interior, not a stop on a ring road.

    We had a great day touring Thorsmork with our guide Kris from Midgard. We really enjoyed the great hikes and viewpoints that are otherwise difficult to reach without the Superjeep. I feel like those that can complete the short hikes get more out of the experience.

    The best adventures of my life! For adventures in Iceland, Zimno is without a doubt my number one choice. I have had some amazing experiences with Zimno. With Zimno, I have explored incredible Icelandic nature: from glaciers like Langjökull, Sólheimajökull, and Eyjafjallajökull to hikes in places like Landmannalaugar and Glymur, in both winter and summer. For beginners like me, this is important, because it opens the door to enjoying Iceland instead of making you feel left out for being inexperienced.
