About this experience
Step off your cruise ship and immerse yourselves in an unforgettable Icelandic adventure with our exclusive small group Golden Circle tour, especially designed for our Spanish-speaking guests. This meticulously planned 6.5-hour excursion ensures you experience the raw beauty and geological wonders of Iceland's most celebrated route, all while enjoying the comfort, personalized attention, and seamless communication provided by your dedicated Spanish-speaking driver-guide.
Our journey begins as we depart directly from the cruise terminal, heading towards Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site of immense historical and geological significance. Here, you will have the unique opportunity to walk between the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia, witnessing the dramatic rift valley and learning about Iceland's ancient parliament, Alþingi, all explained in your own language.
Next, we venture to the picturesque Öxarárfoss waterfall, nestled within Þingvellir. This beautiful cascade, where the river Öxará plunges over the cliffs, offers stunning photo opportunities and a moment of tranquil beauty amidst the rugged Icelandic landscape. Your guide will share fascinating details about the area in Spanish, enhancing your experience.
Our adventure continues to the renowned geothermal area of Geysir, home to the famous Strokkur geyser. Prepare to be amazed as Strokkur erupts every few minutes, sending a powerful jet of boiling water high into the air. Explore the surrounding hot springs and bubbling mud pools, a vivid testament to Iceland's intense volcanic activity, all while your Spanish-speaking guide provides insightful commentary.
Finally, we arrive at the majestic Gullfoss waterfall, one of Iceland's most iconic natural attractions. Witness the sheer power and beauty of the Hvítá river as it plunges down two dramatic tiers into a deep canyon. The breathtaking spectacle and surrounding landscape will leave you in awe, with your guide ensuring you don't miss any fascinating details shared in Spanish.
Throughout the tour, your knowledgeable Spanish-speaking driver-guide will provide fascinating insights into Iceland's geology, history, and culture, ensuring a rich and immersive experience tailored to your linguistic needs. With comfortable transportation and ample time at each location, this small group Golden Circle tour offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, allowing you to maximize your time ashore and create lasting memories of Iceland's extraordinary landscapes, all while enjoying the comfort of Spanish guidance. We will ensure a timely return to the cruise terminal well before your ship's departure.

If the weather cancels this tour
Iceland's weather is real. What usually stops this one is sea state — the skipper decides an hour or two before departure. Here is exactly what happens to your booking.
- 1Nordur Travel Services ehf decides, and tells us. Operators cancel when it is unsafe or pointless, and we back that call every time — we do not ask them to run anyway.
- 2We contact you by email, and by phone if your tour is the same or next day. You choose: another date if there is one you can make, or a full refund. There is no fee and nothing to argue.
- 3The refund goes back to the card you paid with, through Stripe, usually visible within a few working days. If this tour was one of several in your booking, the others are untouched.
What you do not get is the day back. If this is the only free day in your plan, put a spare day next to it — the planner leaves days free with the rest-day option. And if you want out because the forecast looks bad, that is your own cancellation: free until 1 day before departure, the operator's policy after that.

Why this one and not the cheaper one?
The nearest cheaper Secret Lagoon Experience Ticket from VAREN Iceland is €43 — €98 less. Here is every difference we can actually measure.
| Nordur Travel Services ehf · €141 | VAREN Iceland · €43 | |
|---|---|---|
| How long it runs | 6.5 hours | 3 hours |
| Getting there | Picks you up | You make your own way |
The €98 buys you 3.5 more hours out and hotel pickup. Whether that is worth it is your call — but that is what the difference is.
Sold out on your date?
Seats come back — a cancellation, or the operator adding a vehicle. Tell us the date and we will check once a day and email you if one opens. One email, then we delete the address; nothing else is ever sent to it.
Who this is not for
- Not for late risers on your first morning — the earliest departure is 07:00, and Reykjavík pickups start before that.
Read off the operator's own conditions. If none of it applies to you, this is a good one.
Why we list it
Nordur Travel Services ehf is one of 154 operators we work with — chosen for reliability, honest descriptions and how they treat guests when weather changes plans. We don't list everything; we list what we'd book ourselves. The six checks every operator passes →

My sister and I booked a Golden Circle tour with Nordur Travel. They communicated well with us prior to the trip providing pick up details and any changes to the programme. Lara the guide was very good - friendly and informative and considered the needs of the group. I would happily recommend the company.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to see the Northern Lights, even though we had 2 goes at it! Each trip took us to different places, and although the forecast was apparently very good on the second attempt, we still didn’t see any, despite the enthusiasm and knowledge of both guides. Laura was the perfect guide, with her knowledge and enthusiasm. The hot chocolate drink and pastries were very welcome, and the dark skies on the second night were quite spectacular on their own!

The tour with Magda was super, she told us a lot of information about Landmannalaugar and the hike was really beautiful! Relaxing in the hot spring at the end was also very nice. All in all a great adventure 👍

- Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon or Secret Lagoon — pick by what your day looks likeThree hot lagoons near Reykjavík, three very different days. We say which one fits an airport day, a city evening and a Golden Circle loop.
- Six hours in port is enough for one thing done well, not three done badlyShore excursions for cruise days in Reykjavík, Akureyri and Grundarfjörður — what fits inside a six-hour call and what to leave for another trip.
- Bolt the Secret Lagoon onto the Golden Circle, not the Blue LagoonSecret Lagoon, Blue Lagoon or Fontana as the hot-water finish to a Golden Circle day. Which is on the route, which fits the budget, which to book separately.

Lagoons & spas — questions people ask
Is the Blue Lagoon worth it or is it too touristy?
It is busy and it is worth it, once. The water is milky blue from silica, the setting in the Reykjanes lava is unlike anywhere else, and it sits twenty minutes from Keflavík Airport, so it fits an arrival or departure day. Book a time slot in advance; it sells out. If crowds bother you, go early morning or after 20:00. The Secret Lagoon or Fontana on the Golden Circle are calmer and cheaper alternatives.
Can I do the Blue Lagoon on the way to or from the airport?
Yes, and it is the best way to use it. Transfers like IceTransfer's Keflavík to Blue Lagoon to Reykjavík (/experience/1036423/) or the reverse (/experience/1036419/) stop at the lagoon for a few hours with your luggage stored. Allow at least three hours at the lagoon and check that your slot lines up with your flight. Note that the Reykjanes eruptions have closed the lagoon at short notice; check its status before travelling.
What is the difference between the Secret Lagoon and the Blue Lagoon?
The Secret Lagoon at Flúðir is a simple, warm geothermal pool with a bubbling hot spring beside it and basic changing rooms. It is on the Golden Circle, so it slots into a sightseeing day (/experience/17050/, /experience/624446/). The Blue Lagoon is a spa: silica masks, swim-up bar, saunas and a price to match. If you want a soak after a day of waterfalls, Secret Lagoon. If you want the spa day, Blue Lagoon.
Do I have to shower naked before a pool in Iceland?
Yes, at every public pool and most lagoons. Swimwear off, wash thoroughly with soap, swimwear on, then into the water. It is a hygiene rule because Icelandic pools use very little chlorine, and it is taken seriously. Changing rooms are single-sex with open showers; some larger lagoons have a few private cubicles. Nobody looks. It feels odd for thirty seconds and then it does not.
