Would this be cheaper direct? No — we sell at Taste Iceland's own price and take our commission from them, not from you. What you get here is one checkout across operators, one confirmation, and one place to change or cancel it. If you ever find it cheaper on their own site, tell us and we will match it or explain why we cannot.

About this experience
This private family-friendly tour is designed for families with children aged 10+, combining Iceland’s most famous Golden Circle highlights with a relaxing visit to Hvammsvík Hot Springs.
The day begins at Þingvellir National Park, where children can walk between two tectonic plates and learn about Vikings, nature, and Iceland’s history through clear, age-appropriate storytelling. Easy paths and open spaces make this stop comfortable and engaging.
Next, you’ll visit the Geysir Geothermal Area, home to the famous Strokkur geyser. Watching powerful eruptions every few minutes is exciting for kids and offers a great introduction to Iceland’s geothermal activity.
The tour continues to Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls. Safe viewpoints allow families to enjoy the dramatic landscape together without long or challenging walks.
In the afternoon, the tour finishes at Hvammsvík Hot Springs, beautifully located along the shores of Hvalfjörður. The geothermal pools and ocean views provide a calm, scenic environment to unwind after a full day of exploration.
As a private tour, everything is adapted to your family:
- Comfortable private vehicle
- Flexible timing and relaxed pace
- Stops for snacks, photos, and rest
- Family-aware guiding focused on learning and comfort
This experience is ideal for families with older children who want to combine iconic Icelandic sights with a peaceful geothermal spa visit, creating meaningful shared memories in Iceland.

We did the South Coast tour with Tomasz. We had an incredible day. Tomasz is an amazing guide - super friendly, and really knowledgeable about Iceland. He knows all the places to go to avoid too many other tourists. The glacier hike was definitely the highlight - Tomasz is very experienced and provided all the kit, he took care of us and made us feel at ease. Could not recommend Tomasz and Taste Iceland more highly!

We went on a tour around the Snaefellsnes peninsula with Tomasz, which we booked with him after spending a fantastic day with him earlier in the week. Tomasz makes personalised adjustments to the tours so you’re not just seeing the big highlights but also some of the lesser visited sights, including some which are off the tourist track altogether. He’s super knowledgeable about Iceland and passionate about what he does so you get a truly informed and enjoyable experience. The Snaefellsnes peninsula itself is stunningly beautiful, with a new and awe inspiring view around every corner. Less touristy than the golden circle and south coast tours but more than worth exploring!

A trip to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula with Taste Iceland was much more than just sightseeing. It was a true feast for the soul, filled with admiration for Iceland's nature, history, and unique atmosphere. Snæfellsnes is rightly called "Iceland in miniature." In a single day, you can see everything this country has to offer. Rugged cliffs, majestic mountains, lava fields, black sand beaches, and picturesque villages create landscapes that will linger in your memory for a long time. The real highlight of this trip, however, was our guide, Tomek. His knowledge of Iceland is impressive, but even more impressive is the way he tells the story. He made every place take on a new meaning. The island's history, local legends, geology, nature, and the everyday lives of Icelanders intertwine into a fascinating story that you'd want to listen to over and over again. It's clear that Tomek loves Iceland and shares his knowledge with immense passion. Thanks to this, you don't just admire beautiful views, but truly experience and understand this extraordinary country. If you dream of Iceland, want to see its most beautiful corners, and at the same time hear stories told by people who know and love the island, tours with Taste Iceland are the best choice. Thank you for a day full of emotion, delight, and memories that will stay with me for a very long time.

- Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon or Secret Lagoon — pick by what your day looks likeThree hot lagoons near Reykjavík, three very different days. We say which one fits an airport day, a city evening and a Golden Circle loop.
- Bolt the Secret Lagoon onto the Golden Circle, not the Blue LagoonSecret Lagoon, Blue Lagoon or Fontana as the hot-water finish to a Golden Circle day. Which is on the route, which fits the budget, which to book separately.
- Hot springs beyond the Blue Lagoon — Secret Lagoon, Fontana, Mývatn and KraumaFour geothermal pools that aren't the Blue Lagoon, which tour gets you to each, and which one we'd actually pick for a Golden Circle or North Iceland day.

Lagoons & spas — questions people ask
Is the Blue Lagoon worth it or is it too touristy?
It is busy and it is worth it, once. The water is milky blue from silica, the setting in the Reykjanes lava is unlike anywhere else, and it sits twenty minutes from Keflavík Airport, so it fits an arrival or departure day. Book a time slot in advance; it sells out. If crowds bother you, go early morning or after 20:00. The Secret Lagoon or Fontana on the Golden Circle are calmer and cheaper alternatives.
Can I do the Blue Lagoon on the way to or from the airport?
Yes, and it is the best way to use it. Transfers like IceTransfer's Keflavík to Blue Lagoon to Reykjavík (/experience/1036423/) or the reverse (/experience/1036419/) stop at the lagoon for a few hours with your luggage stored. Allow at least three hours at the lagoon and check that your slot lines up with your flight. Note that the Reykjanes eruptions have closed the lagoon at short notice; check its status before travelling.
What is the difference between the Secret Lagoon and the Blue Lagoon?
The Secret Lagoon at Flúðir is a simple, warm geothermal pool with a bubbling hot spring beside it and basic changing rooms. It is on the Golden Circle, so it slots into a sightseeing day (/experience/17050/, /experience/624446/). The Blue Lagoon is a spa: silica masks, swim-up bar, saunas and a price to match. If you want a soak after a day of waterfalls, Secret Lagoon. If you want the spa day, Blue Lagoon.
Do I have to shower naked before a pool in Iceland?
Yes, at every public pool and most lagoons. Swimwear off, wash thoroughly with soap, swimwear on, then into the water. It is a hygiene rule because Icelandic pools use very little chlorine, and it is taken seriously. Changing rooms are single-sex with open showers; some larger lagoons have a few private cubicles. Nobody looks. It feels odd for thirty seconds and then it does not.
