Our take on this one
Out of Reykjavík on the Jóhanna, a working Icelandic fishing boat with a warm cabin and a lavatory, with coffee and home-made biscuits on the way out and the crew teaching you to fish if you never have. The part that makes it worth €150 is the return leg: the captain and a chef barbecue what you caught and serve it with potato salad, coleslaw and garlic or pepper sauce, on the boat, on the way back in. All the tackle, blankets and fees are included. Three hours, four departures from 09:00, all year, minimum age five. If the weather turns, you get the coffee and the blankets and a look at the coastline — the sea decides how much fishing happens.

The crew is there to help you begin with sea angling or improve your skills. Our captain and chef will barbecue your catch and serve it to you on the way back to harbor accompanied with potato salad and garlic sauce
If the Icelandic weather is not on our side, the crew will provide you with coffee as well as warm blankets. Our typical Icelandic fishing boat, Jóhanna, offers a cosy inside space with all facilities, including a restroom.

Absolutely fantastic experience with Viggson Sailing in Reykjavik! Jakob and Viki were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the whole trip. We visited 3 to 4 different fishing spots and, as a group of three, caught more than 15 fish. Most of them were beautiful cod, which were filleted and prepared for us afterwards. The food was excellent and really delicious. Even the kids ate a lot of it. I went with an 8 year old and an 11 year old, and both had so much fun. After one week in Iceland, my kids said this was their favorite experience of the whole trip. A great activity for families, very well organized, and with wonderful hosts. Highly recommended!

Thanks a lot !!!! We caught loads of huge cod! The skipper was really friendly and moved on to a different spot whenever there weren’t any fish. There were only four of us on the boat. I’d say we caught over 10 huge cod. And he cooked them right there on board, making cod fillets! Excellent

Great afternoon of fishing- caught numerous Cod and Pollock. The Viggsons were friendly guides and hosts. Also an excellent way to get a different viewpoint of the city and surrounding countryside. Eating fresh fish on way back to port was the 'icing on the cake'.
