About this experience

The Golden Circle is Iceland's most famous route, and it’s easy to see why. Located close to the capital, it provides a range of natural scenery to explore, rich with stories spanning from Iceland's early settlement to the present.

Our first stop is Thingvellir National Park, a gem with immense historical and geological significance. This is where Iceland’s parliament was established in 930 A.D., with thirty ruling chiefs gathering here annually to discuss the island's laws until Danish rule began. It’s also where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, allowing us to “walk between continents” at this unique location. Adding to the experience, we’ll take a short hike to the picturesque Öxararfoss waterfall, one of Iceland's few human-made waterfalls. The Öxará River was redirected in the 10th century to provide water for parliamentary assemblies.

The journey continues to the Geysir geothermal area, where we can watch Strokkur, a powerful geyser, erupt every five minutes. We then head to Gullfoss waterfall, renowned for its thundering cascades and hypnotizing beauty.

Finally, we’ll visit Kerið crater lake, nestled within a 3,000-year-old caldera with vividly colored waters and rock walls that create a striking end to our day.

The tour emphasizes both nature and culture as we explore in a small group, with no more than 19 people in a comfortable minibus. This allows our guide to connect with each guest, creating a friendly, engaging atmosphere throughout the journey.

What a day on the glacier! I was on the glacier on a snowmobile two years ago, but Simply Iceland is worlds better. An amazing tour with great people. A big thank you to Gabriela and her colleague for the fantastic tour. Top-notch snowmobiles, top-notch location—just simply the best. Five stars aren’t even enough, but I can’t give any more. Thanks from Ingo and Jian

We had the best time ever snowmobiling this week, a once in a lifetime opportunity and something we will never forget. Felt really safe and well equipped with gear. 10/10 would recommend :)

Snowmobiling on Langjöjull glacier was a wonderful experience! We chose the "meet on location" version and drove to Húsafell ourselves, but transportation from Reykjavik is also available. The tour started with a superjeep ride to the snowmobiles. This took only about half an hour, but our guide told us that in the winter the drive was sometimes up to 2 hours due to the road conditions. Beautiful scenery and despite the rough road the drive on the superjeep was really comfortable. Once we reached the snowmobiles we met our snowmobile guide, who showed us how to operate the snowmobiles and went over some safety instructions. The snowmobiling was so much fun! The guide was wonderful at taking into account the different speeds everyone in the group was comfortable with, ensuring that no one was left behind while allowing us to go fast enough to feel the thrill of speeding through the snow. We were provided with helmets and coveralls for the tour, and there were gloves as well for those who hadn't brought their own. The guides, Gabrilla and Robert Orri, took great care of the group keeping everyone safe and making sure each and every person left from the glacier with wonderful memories of the time we spent there. I have no complaints whatsoever of the experience and encourage everyone looking for a fun day to book this tour!

OMGOSHHHHHHH! PLEASE DO THIS. It was the best thing I've ever done on land! So cool! Everyone was so nice and professional. The drive up the glacier was an adventure in itself. We even did a quick stop to rescue a truck with a busted tire (which added to the adventure). Gabriela and Jonas are the names I remember, but EVERYONE is the best. The ride felt sufficient to me. If the price is stopping you, just don't eat for a day and go snowmobiling! It's worth a missed meal 🤣. I almost didn't do this, and I can't imagine life without it now.
