All of the above is computed from Volcano Trails's own 16 product records, not from a questionnaire. Fleet size and typical group sizes are the figures a comparison table usually shows; Bókun does not carry them, so we would be guessing, and we would rather leave a gap than fill it in.

From the operator's own Bókun vendor record. The year is when the company's registration number was issued, which is the closest thing to a founding date that can be checked at skatturinn.is; the brand may be older or younger than the company. We've booked a Highland bus with Volcano Trails from Hvolsvöllur gas station to Þórsmörk Langidalur in July 2024 for 2 people on their website, a red reykjavik excursions bus arrived, the driver will check your name on his list. Everything went smoothly, the weather was perfect too. We spent a total of 4 hour in the area of Thorsmork, hiking up to the vantage point of Thorsmork and down, then we had enough time to wait for the bus.

As a first time visitor of the magnificent country that Iceland is, I couldn’t have come across a better travel agency to arrange the week long holiday that we undertook just recently. From the planning stages of this trip I felt part of an experience rather than just a customer. The frequent updates, personalized approach and rapid responses made booking and planning this trip of a lifetime like a walk in the park. Fantastic team, great accommodation arrangements. I would definitely recommend Isafold Travel to anyone thinking of visiting Iceland! I for one can hardly wait to book my next holiday!

We visited Iceland a year ago and did the Reykjavik 4x4 Tour. It was fantastic! We were the only people on the excursion so it was just us in a Defender following the guide car. Our guide Bjarni was amazing, so knowledgable and lovely to chat to you at the end of the tour. Would highly recommend!

We just returned from a trip to Iceland. We were on a tight schedule as we only had 4 days. Many of the tour companies we contacted had fixed schedules that did not work with our's. I came across Isafold Travel through a blog. Our Travel Consultant was Edda S. Edda was consistently responsive, patient with our requests/questions, and put together an amazing package for us. The tour included the Northern Lights, a private driver for 2 days to transport us to activities such as the ice caves, snowmobiling on a glacier, and, of course, the sights along the Golden Circle. Our guide also took us to some off-the-beaten-path sights. On the morning before our flight, Edda also booked a horse riding tour. We were very happy with Isafold Travel and will definitely use their services again when we return to Iceland.

No. We sell Volcano Trails's tours at the price they set, through their own booking system, so the seat costs the same here as on their site. What you get here in addition is one checkout for every tour in your trip, whoever runs it, and one place to turn if plans change.

11 of their 16 tours include a pickup service; the rest start at a meeting point. Each tour page says which, and pickup is chosen at checkout.
What is Volcano Trails's cancellation policy?+
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start. The exact window is printed on every tour page and in your confirmation, and a refund goes back to the card you paid with.
Where do Volcano Trails tours start?+
Their departures we sell start from Reykjavík. Check the map on each tour page for the exact meeting point.
Which languages are Volcano Trails tours guided in?+
Guidance is in English, according to their own product records. Where a tour is audio-guided rather than led by a person, the tour page says so.
Is there a minimum age on Volcano Trails tours?+
Yes, on 5 of their 16 tours, the lowest being 8. The rest set no minimum. The planner filters by your youngest traveller if you give it ages.
How is Volcano Trails rated?+
4.5 out of 5 on Google from 11 reviews of the company. That is the operator's score, not a rating of any one tour; our own guests' reviews of their tours, where we have them, are shown on this page and on the tour pages.
Not sure which of these fits your dates? The planner checks real departures and builds the day around them.
