Would this be cheaper direct? No — we sell at Iceland Premium Tours's own price and take our commission from them, not from you. What you get here is one checkout across operators, one confirmation, and one place to change or cancel it. If you ever find it cheaper on their own site, tell us and we will match it or explain why we cannot.

Our take on this one
A private 4x4 with your own guide for eight hours on the Golden Circle, picked up and dropped at your Reykjavík hotel. Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss, Kerið with entry included, and a soak at the Secret Lagoon at the end — bring a swimsuit and towel, or hire one there. The price is for the jeep, not per head, so it makes sense at four or five people and is extravagant for two. What you actually buy is time: the guide waits while you photograph, and the order of the day bends to the weather instead of a timetable. One departure, 08:00. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before.
- Book it if
- A family or group of four to six who would rather split one vehicle than sit on a coach with fifty strangers.
- Skip it if
- A couple splitting €1,039 two ways is paying six times the coach fare for the same three stops — take the scheduled tour and spend the difference elsewhere.

About this experience
Our Private Luxury Golden Circle Tour is the best way to see some of Iceland's most well-known and stunning sights in a single day, in comfort and luxury.
Þingvellir (or Thingvellir) National Park, one of the tour's highlights, is our first stop. On the way there, we take many breaks to give you the greatest views of Þingvallavatn, Iceland's biggest natural lake. Thingvellir is well-known for hosting the Alþing, Iceland's parliament, which met here from the eleventh through the seventeenth century. Thingvellir National Park is situated in a rift valley created by the collision of the European and North American continents, the adrenaline rush of having one foot in Europe and the other in America is accessible here. Another attraction in the national park is the Silfra Fissure, famous among scuba divers who travel from all over the globe to dive in its pure glacial water.
On our Private Luxury Golden Circle Tour, we allow you additional time to wander about and take photographs so you don't have to hurry as you would on a conventional bus tour.
The very picturesque Laugarvatn lake is our next destination. This lake, located in the Icelandic countryside, has warm waters and is home to one of Iceland's most famous spas, Fontana. We stop at Efstidalur Organic Farm Restaurant, where you can enjoy some great local food as well as their ice cream.
Next on the itinerary are Geysir and Gullfoss, for additional photo ops and more time to explore Iceland's wonders.
Strokkur erupts every 10 minutes, flinging a column of water into the air to a height of 20 to 30 meters, and it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland.
Gullfoss, often known as the Golden Waterfall, is a beautiful waterfall found in a picturesque canyon on the Hvita River.
Thanks to the construction of a new parking lot, it is also possible to visit Brúarfoss, one of Iceland's most intriguing waterfalls, famous for the vibrant blue color of its water.
All yea round, we stop at the Secret Lagoon in Fluðir, a tiny hamlet with one of Iceland's oldest natural swimming pools. Whether you're a tourist or an Icelander, this natural geothermal pool is a terrific way to finish your luxury tour of Iceland's Golden Circle. You may schedule a bath in the hidden lagoon as an "Extra" at check-out if you'd like.
If time allows, we will make further stops to explore some lesser-known locations, such as Faxi waterfall, and you will get the opportunity to meet some Icelandic horses.
On our journey back to Reykjavik, we'll stop at Kerið, a stunning crater with a volcanic lake within.
WINTER - an additional winter attraction of the trip: if the weather permits, the Northern Lights may be visible on the way back to Reykjavik. The price of the regular trip includes a bonus, free aurora hunt on the return journey.
SUMMER - during the summer, our Premium Golden Circle Tour begins with a drive through Nesjavellir, one of Iceland's most spectacular highways that extends between mountains and historic craters. This road is locked during the winter months so we take a different route in the winter.

Cancellation for this tour
Free cancellation until 2 days before departure; no refund after that. If the operator cancels for weather or safety, you get a full refund or a new date.
If the weather cancels this tour
Iceland's weather is real. What usually stops this one is a forecast the operator judges unsafe. Here is exactly what happens to your booking.
- 1Iceland Premium Tours decides, and tells us. Operators cancel when it is unsafe or pointless, and we back that call every time — we do not ask them to run anyway.
- 2We contact you by email, and by phone if your tour is the same or next day. You choose: another date if there is one you can make, or a full refund. There is no fee and nothing to argue.
- 3The refund goes back to the card you paid with, through Stripe, usually visible within a few working days. If this tour was one of several in your booking, the others are untouched.
What you do not get is the day back. If this is the only free day in your plan, put a spare day next to it — the planner leaves days free with the rest-day option. And if you want out because the forecast looks bad, that is your own cancellation: free until 2 days before departure, the operator's policy after that.

Sold out on your date?
Seats come back — a cancellation, or the operator adding a vehicle. Tell us the date and we will check once a day and email you if one opens. One email, then we delete the address; nothing else is ever sent to it.
Who this is not for
- Priced per vehicle, so it is poor value for one or two people and good value for four or more sharing.
Read off the operator's own conditions. If none of it applies to you, this is a good one.

We had the best experience with Örvar at Iceland Premium Tours! We booked 2 private tours over 2 days - the Golden Circle and South Island. We got to see and experience some extra things that we wouldn't have if we had taken a large bus tour, We were also able to tailor the tours to our own preferences. It was the best decision we could have made! Not only did we see some of the most incredible sights of Iceland we also learnt so much about the history and culture of Icelandic people. Örvar made us comfortable and welcome from the first moment. We would recommend Iceland Premium Tours to anyone visiting Iceland, in fact we are planning our next trip back and will be contacting them for the Iceland Ring Road tour in the summer.

Amazing time. We spent the day seeing beautiful sights while getting to know a great man. It was a pleasure riding through the countryside with you Örvar. Thanks for the great views and conversation.

We booked a private group tour for 10 adults for 5 days through Firebird Tours and they chose Iceland Premium Tours to take us to all the adventures we had planned. Gummi picked us up at the airport and took us around Reykjavik and the surrounding towns that first day and on a Golden Circle tour the following day, sharing history and answering questions along the way. Orvar, Gummi's brother and owner of the company, took us around the island the remainder of our trip. He also shared helpful Icelandic history and tales and even suggested some changes due to the weather. One suggestion was that we visit the Seljalandsfoss waterfall on our way back to our hotel instead of before a scheduled ice cave tour so we wouldn't be late due to the road conditions. The waterfall was amazing under the stars, and we had the place all to ourselves - this was much better than it would have been earlier in the day with the snow for sure! The brothers each made sure to ask if we needed food or water, or to use the facilities whenever the opportunity arose during our drives. They obviously care about the company and the people they share their country with. If we go back, we'll request Iceland Premium Tours!

What an absolutely wonderful day we had with Örvar ! We had a private tour and I can’t imagine a better guide to beautiful Iceland. Not only were the destinations breathtaking - but the history, stories and conversation were what really made the day special. Örvar and his family truly went above and beyond. We can’t wait to return and reconnect.

- Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon or Secret Lagoon — pick by what your day looks likeThree hot lagoons near Reykjavík, three very different days. We say which one fits an airport day, a city evening and a Golden Circle loop.
- Bolt the Secret Lagoon onto the Golden Circle, not the Blue LagoonSecret Lagoon, Blue Lagoon or Fontana as the hot-water finish to a Golden Circle day. Which is on the route, which fits the budget, which to book separately.
- Hot springs beyond the Blue Lagoon — Secret Lagoon, Fontana, Mývatn and KraumaFour geothermal pools that aren't the Blue Lagoon, which tour gets you to each, and which one we'd actually pick for a Golden Circle or North Iceland day.

Lagoons & spas — questions people ask
Is the Blue Lagoon worth it or is it too touristy?
It is busy and it is worth it, once. The water is milky blue from silica, the setting in the Reykjanes lava is unlike anywhere else, and it sits twenty minutes from Keflavík Airport, so it fits an arrival or departure day. Book a time slot in advance; it sells out. If crowds bother you, go early morning or after 20:00. The Secret Lagoon or Fontana on the Golden Circle are calmer and cheaper alternatives.
Can I do the Blue Lagoon on the way to or from the airport?
Yes, and it is the best way to use it. Transfers like IceTransfer's Keflavík to Blue Lagoon to Reykjavík (/experience/1036423/) or the reverse (/experience/1036419/) stop at the lagoon for a few hours with your luggage stored. Allow at least three hours at the lagoon and check that your slot lines up with your flight. Note that the Reykjanes eruptions have closed the lagoon at short notice; check its status before travelling.
What is the difference between the Secret Lagoon and the Blue Lagoon?
The Secret Lagoon at Flúðir is a simple, warm geothermal pool with a bubbling hot spring beside it and basic changing rooms. It is on the Golden Circle, so it slots into a sightseeing day (/experience/17050/, /experience/624446/). The Blue Lagoon is a spa: silica masks, swim-up bar, saunas and a price to match. If you want a soak after a day of waterfalls, Secret Lagoon. If you want the spa day, Blue Lagoon.
Do I have to shower naked before a pool in Iceland?
Yes, at every public pool and most lagoons. Swimwear off, wash thoroughly with soap, swimwear on, then into the water. It is a hygiene rule because Icelandic pools use very little chlorine, and it is taken seriously. Changing rooms are single-sex with open showers; some larger lagoons have a few private cubicles. Nobody looks. It feels odd for thirty seconds and then it does not.
