About this experience

Hekla volcano is one of Iceland’s most extraordinary geological wonders. When you join this 9-hour 4X4 Monster Truck tour, it will give you a chance to walk on ice, lava, volcanic ash and allow you to warm up by getting into a natural hot spring. During this day trip from Reykjavik led by a driver/guide, you'll experience off-road and highway driving, and see sights such as Hekla volcano, cobalt blue lake at Ljlotipollur, Hjalparfoss Waterfall, and Forstastaoa Lake. Private tour is limited to a maximum of 10 people per Monster Truck and includes hotel pickup and drop-off and national park fees. Your driver/guide will pick you up at your hotel in Reykjavik between 8:30am - 9am, and you'll board your 4X4 6 doors Monster Truck equipped with an extra fold-down step for easy accessibility, luxurious leather seats, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, GPS, first-aid kit, trackwell and other security equipment. All vehicles are modified with large 46-inch wheels and are ready for the mighty challenge of this off-road and highway excursion. Begin your day with a drive taking you through rivers, across glittering crater walls, over lava fields and along colorful mountains, where you will be able to witness geothermal activity and a stunning natural scenery. To top it all, this stunning off-road drive in Iceland comes with a personal service from your guide. Some of the Hekla volcano tour highlights include Hekla Volcano, cobalt blue lake at Ljlotipollur, Frostastaoa Lake, Geothermal activity and lava fields. Take a dip in a natural hot spring and see the Hjalparfoss Waterfall. This tour lasts approximately 9 hours, and once the tour finishes, you'll return to your hotel in Reykjavik around 6pm.

Do you know how many waterfalls Iceland has? If not, you should definitely book your tour with Erik from Superjeep.is! He has all the answers and so much more. We had an incredible day visiting breath-taking waterfalls and seeing Iceland's second largest glacier. Our trip included a stop at Efstidalur for delicious ice cream and lunch, which was a delightful surprise! Erik is extremely knowledgeable and made the experience both fun and educational. We took private 10 seat super jeep northern lights tour with Birgir. We travelled with 3 little ones and my elderly mother. Birgir went above and beyond assisting us with car seats, ensuring everyone could get in and out of the car safely, and making everyone as comfortable as possible with his hot chocolate, entertaining Icelandic stories and history, and parking the jeep to minimize the intense winds. He was patient and knowledgeable, and we got an amazing lights show. As someone who is not easily impressed, this tour gets 10/10 hands down! Thank you super jeep and Birgir!

Yesterday I went on one of the best tours I’ve ever experienced in Iceland, led by Erik with Superjeep. I enjoyed every second of driving through the snow in a 4x4 to visit the Katla ice cave. I live in Iceland, I’ve been on tours with various companies, and I can say that this company offers truly authentic and unique experiences in groups of just four people. The price is higher than tours for groups of 14–18 people, but the quality is infinitely superior, so it’s definitely worth the investment. Their guides are experts on the country. I thought I knew Iceland, but the lesson in Icelandic geography we had yesterday with Erik and all the stories he told us (not to mention his skilful driving in 30cm of snow) was top-notch.
