About this experience

Fierce geothermal activity of this huge UNESCO geopark makes Reykjanes an irresistible destination for those seeking truly intense experiences. Do not hesitate to put it on your must-see list of places in Iceland and let us take you on a private tour you’ll never forget. Let's jump on board our fearless vehicle and experience the majestic beauty of the Land of Fire and Ice.

Impressive coastline, massive lava fields, mud pots and hot springs bubbling beneath the surface... Reykjanes will enchant you with its natural beauty. Driving towards the gorgeous Kleifarvatn, the largest and deepest lake in the area, we pass by picturesque lava fields and mountains. The colorful geothermal area of Seltún welcomes us with bubbling, simmering mud pools, and the black rocks of Krýsuvíkurbjarg cliffs are simply mesmerizing. It’s the perfect spot for a short Volcano Lava hike.

Hungry stomach? The lovely town of Grindavik awaits us with arguably the best lobster soup and fish and chips you’ve ever tasted. Power recharged, we’re ready to explore the geothermal mud pools of Gunnuhver. Our tour finishes in Sandvík, where we first admire its beach with remarkable black sand and incredible dunes, then the famous Bridge between Continents. To stand above the tectonic plates and feel like being on two different continents at the same time – could you imagine a better grand finale of our trip?

The memories of this amazing adventure will stay with you forever in the form of stunning photos taken by our professional guide-photographer. You get a package of 20 pictures: portraits, landscapes and group photos, included in the price of the trip. No better choice, especially for your first time in Iceland.

Cancellation for this tour

Free cancellation until 2 days before departure; no refund after that. If the operator cancels for weather or safety, you get a full refund or a new date.

If the weather cancels this tour

Iceland's weather is real. What usually stops this one is a forecast the operator judges unsafe. Here is exactly what happens to your booking.

  1. 1Icelandic Roamers decides, and tells us. Operators cancel when it is unsafe or pointless, and we back that call every time — we do not ask them to run anyway.
  2. 2We contact you by email, and by phone if your tour is the same or next day. You choose: another date if there is one you can make, or a full refund. There is no fee and nothing to argue.
  3. 3The refund goes back to the card you paid with, through Stripe, usually visible within a few working days. If this tour was one of several in your booking, the others are untouched.

What you do not get is the day back. If this is the only free day in your plan, put a spare day next to it — the planner leaves days free with the rest-day option. And if you want out because the forecast looks bad, that is your own cancellation: free until 2 days before departure, the operator's policy after that.

Who this is not for

  • Priced per vehicle, so it is poor value for one or two people and good value for four or more sharing.

Read off the operator's own conditions. If none of it applies to you, this is a good one.

Why we list it

Icelandic Roamers is one of 204 operators we work with — chosen for reliability, honest descriptions and how they treat guests when weather changes plans. We don't list everything; we list what we'd book ourselves. The six checks every operator passes →
