Blue Lagoon transfer: private car, shuttle or taxi?
A private Blue Lagoon transfer costs €107 to €232 per car. Under three people the bus is cheaper; with luggage or a late flight the car wins.

The short version
- Private transfers between Keflavík and the Blue Lagoon start at €110 to €120 per car and take about 25 minutes.
- From Reykjavík the same trip is €107 to €232 per car, 45 minutes to an hour and 45 minutes.
- The price is per car, so it only beats a seat on a bus from three people up.
- Lagoon admission is never included in these transfer prices.
Short answer: from Keflavík Airport a private car to the Blue Lagoon costs €110 to €120 and takes 25 minutes. From Reykjavík it is €107 to €232 depending on the operator. These are per-car prices, so they make sense for three or more, or for anyone with bags and a tight schedule.
The lagoon sits between the airport and the capital, which is why so many people use it as a first or last stop. The hard part is bags. The lagoon has luggage storage, but you have to get there first.
From the airport
Nordova Travel’s KEF to Blue Lagoon transfer is €110 for about 25 minutes. Hyper Taxi’s airport to Blue Lagoon transfer is €120 and covers the trip in either direction. Both are cheap for a vehicle, and the drive is short enough that a taxi meter would cost more.
If you want the full arc, airport, lagoon, Reykjavík, our Keflavík transfer guide covers the €387 combined option. For the choice between soaking on arrival or departure, read Blue Lagoon on the way in or out.
From Reykjavík
Hyper Taxi’s Keflavík/Reykjavík to Blue Lagoon transfer is €107 and includes a 45-minute drive. Airport Taxi Iceland’s Sky Lagoon transfer is €133, and it serves the Sky Lagoon, not the Blue one. Iceland Panorama Tours charges €175 one way, and Protour’s private Blue Lagoon transfer is €232.
The spread is wide for the same road. Most of the difference is vehicle size and how much waiting time is built in. Read the tour page: some price in a return wait, and some are one-way only.
When a bus is better
If you are one or two people with a daytime flight, the Blue Lagoon is served by scheduled buses for a fraction of these prices. You need to match the timetable to your lagoon booking, and you will carry your own bags. A private car removes both problems. Split between four people, €120 is €30 each.
Luggage and timing
Check the vehicle size if you travel with large cases. A saloon car takes two big suitcases and little else, and four people with four cases need a van. Say so when you book, and the operator will tell you whether the price changes. Flights land in waves, so the driver tracks your flight number and waits if you are late through passport control. Wait time is normally included for the first 30 to 60 minutes after landing.
Going the other way, leave the lagoon two hours before the transfer time you would give a normal airport run. Showering, drying and getting back to the car always takes longer than you plan.
What the price leaves out
Lagoon entry is not included in any of these. Book the lagoon time slot first, then the transfer around it. Allow two to three hours inside, plus time to dry your hair if you are flying afterwards. Do not book a flight departure closer than three hours after you leave the water.
Our honest take
One or two people with light bags should look at the bus first. Three or more, or anyone arriving with suitcases, should book the €110 to €120 private car from the airport and stop thinking about it. From Reykjavík, the €107 Hyper Taxi option is the sensible price. The €232 Protour car buys a bigger vehicle, not a better lagoon.
