About this experience

From Reykjavik we head to the South Coast, a magical route full of stunning sights and historical importance. We make our way through Selfoss and Hvolsvöllur, enjoying agricultural landscapes mixed with mountain ranges and lava fields along the way.

First stop of the day is the iconic Seljalandsfoss. A jaw dropping majestic sight with the possibility to walk behind the waterfall. After enjoying Seljalandsfoss we take a short hike to its neighbour Gljúfrarbúi (The one who lives in the mountain) to marvel it´s beauty. Like the name implies, the waterfall is hidden inside the mountain but easy to find, once you know the route.

On we go to the village of Vík í Mýrdal, an astonishing small village and probably one of the most photographed settlements in Iceland. The iconic church is seen in all the photo ads, and the view from the church is breathtaking. We take our lunch break there before continuing our travels.

The black sand beach of Reynisfjara is one of the biggest attraction in Iceland and the iconic Reynisdrangar cliffs, sticking out from the sea. Be careful, the tides can sneak up on you. Basalt rock wall is a selfie must spot before we hop on to Sólheimajökull glacier. There we touch upon the brink of the glacier so we can claim we have been on a glacier in our lifetime. Bucket list item? We think so.

But the journey doesn´t end here... The grey rain curtain of this world rolls back and all turns to silver glass... On our way back we visit the ever impressive Skógarfoss, 60 meters high no less.

Our guides all know Iceland in their own way, giving you small peak into Icelandic stories, sights and knowledge. This description is merely the highlights of the route, but each tour is special and unique. Our minivans are for 19 passengers and very comfortable with big windows to ensure you can take in all the scenery on the route.

The South Coast is a must do when in Iceland, and most be done properly :)

Cancellation for this tour

No refund once booked. If the operator cancels for weather or safety, you get a full refund or a new date.

If the weather cancels this tour

Iceland's weather is real. What usually stops this one is a forecast the operator judges unsafe. Here is exactly what happens to your booking.

  1. 1Simply Iceland decides, and tells us. Operators cancel when it is unsafe or pointless, and we back that call every time — we do not ask them to run anyway.
  2. 2We contact you by email, and by phone if your tour is the same or next day. You choose: another date if there is one you can make, or a full refund. There is no fee and nothing to argue.
  3. 3The refund goes back to the card you paid with, through Stripe, usually visible within a few working days. If this tour was one of several in your booking, the others are untouched.

What you do not get is the day back. If this is the only free day in your plan, put a spare day next to it — the planner leaves days free with the rest-day option. And if you want out because the forecast looks bad, that is your own cancellation: free until the cutoff shown above, the operator's policy after that.

Sold out on your date?

Seats come back — a cancellation, or the operator adding a vehicle. Tell us the date and we will check once a day and email you if one opens. One email, then we delete the address; nothing else is ever sent to it.

Who this is not for

  • Not the one to book if your dates might move: this operator does not refund once booked.
  • Priced per vehicle, so it is poor value for one or two people and good value for four or more sharing.

Read off the operator's own conditions. If none of it applies to you, this is a good one.

What a day on the glacier! I was on the glacier on a snowmobile two years ago, but Simply Iceland is worlds better. An amazing tour with great people. A big thank you to Gabriela and her colleague for the fantastic tour. Top-notch snowmobiles, top-notch location—just simply the best. Five stars aren’t even enough, but I can’t give any more. Thanks from Ingo and Jian

We had the best time ever snowmobiling this week, a once in a lifetime opportunity and something we will never forget. Felt really safe and well equipped with gear. 10/10 would recommend :)

Snowmobiling on Langjöjull glacier was a wonderful experience! We chose the "meet on location" version and drove to Húsafell ourselves, but transportation from Reykjavik is also available. The tour started with a superjeep ride to the snowmobiles. This took only about half an hour, but our guide told us that in the winter the drive was sometimes up to 2 hours due to the road conditions. Beautiful scenery and despite the rough road the drive on the superjeep was really comfortable. Once we reached the snowmobiles we met our snowmobile guide, who showed us how to operate the snowmobiles and went over some safety instructions. The snowmobiling was so much fun! The guide was wonderful at taking into account the different speeds everyone in the group was comfortable with, ensuring that no one was left behind while allowing us to go fast enough to feel the thrill of speeding through the snow. We were provided with helmets and coveralls for the tour, and there were gloves as well for those who hadn't brought their own. The guides, Gabrilla and Robert Orri, took great care of the group keeping everyone safe and making sure each and every person left from the glacier with wonderful memories of the time we spent there. I have no complaints whatsoever of the experience and encourage everyone looking for a fun day to book this tour!

OMGOSHHHHHHH! PLEASE DO THIS. It was the best thing I've ever done on land! So cool! Everyone was so nice and professional. The drive up the glacier was an adventure in itself. We even did a quick stop to rescue a truck with a busted tire (which added to the adventure). Gabriela and Jonas are the names I remember, but EVERYONE is the best. The ride felt sufficient to me. If the price is stopping you, just don't eat for a day and go snowmobiling! It's worth a missed meal 🤣. I almost didn't do this, and I can't imagine life without it now.
