Brú Hotel Countryside enjoys a privileged location in the popular Grímsnes area, just south of Þingvellir Lake, in the heart of southwest Iceland. Its ideal setting offers easy access to many of the country’s most stunning natural attractions.

Each season offers a unique experience at Brú: colorful spring and summer, the warm browns of autumn, and the enchanted white winter. Thanks to the hotel’s countryside setting, free from light pollution, it is a perfect spot for watching the Northern Lights from September to April. The area’s exceptional location often allows guests to enjoy entire nights with skies illuminated by Northern Lights.

Distance from Keflavík International Airport: approx. 99 km (about 1.5 hours by car).

Distance from Selfoss: approx. 22.2 km (about 20 minutes by car).

The hotel consists of two buildings:

Main Building:

Features 13 cozy rooms with a warm, minimalist countryside design. It also includes an outdoor jacuzzi with direct access, a special superior room ideal for couples or newlyweds, and a welcoming reception area decorated in an eclectic, colorful style with comfortable sofas, vibrant artwork, good music, and a friendly countryside bar.

The Pink Lounge, where breakfast and dinner are served, offers a charming retro ambiance reminiscent of a grandmother’s kitchen.

Second Building:

Located just 40 seconds’ walk from the reception, this building offers 13 additional rustic and inviting rooms, including superior rooms with balconies, standard rooms with terraces, and family rooms, each with its own unique charm and character.

At Brú Countryside, all rooms include bed linen and towels, coffee and tea facilities, a hairdryer, and a private bathroom.

Other Information:

Pet-Friendly: Pets are welcome subject to prior approval by the hotel. Guests may also meet our friendly Icelandic Sheepdogs and our resident cat, Mia, who contribute to the unique warmth and rural character of the property.

Smoking: Smoking inside the room is prohibited and may result in a fine of up to €100

Housekeeping room service:To preserve the peaceful and natural atmosphere of our rural hotel, daily housekeeping is not provided. Guests staying for more than two nights may request fresh towels or room cleaning at the reception desk at any time.
