Hótel Stuðlagil Canyon

At Stuðlagil Canyon we offer three types of accommodation. We have 10 new studio rooms with either a double bed or two single beds, a kitchenette, bathroom with a shower and an indoor seating area as well as an outdoor seating area on a terrace. Magnificent mountain views, peace, and nature. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker, and kitchenware. The rooms are intended for 2 people. Elegant rooms that are very comfortable to stay in.

A cabin with one bedroom featuring a double bed, a bathroom with a shower, and a seating area with a kitchenette. The seating area includes a sofa bed, and the cabin can accommodate up to 4 people. A terrace with a sitting area and view. A comfortable house located right at the edge of Stuðlagil Canyon.

Two smaller cabins, each consisting of an open-plan space with a small kitchenette, a double bed, and a small seating area. Bathroom with a shower. Terrace and seating area. Located right at the edge of Stuðlagil Canyon. The cabin is intended for a maximum of 2 people.

We are located right at Stuðlagil Canyon, just a few meters from the magnificent gorge. We offer food services at a restaurant cabin that is open daily from 9:00–18:00. There is also an on-site Farmers Market offering handmade products from the local area and nearby countryside, such as wool sweaters, wool products, and more. It is truly exciting to visit the Farmers Market, which is open daily from 9:00–17:00.

We are 50 minutes from Egilsstaðir, just over 1.5 hours from Mývatn, nearly 2 hours from Dettifoss, 1.5 hours from the Kárahnjúkar Hydropower Plant, and an easy day trip to highland destinations such as Askja, Víti, Herðubreið, Kverkfjöll, and many other exciting places.
