About The Hvítá Inn by Ourhotels - Borgarfjörður West Iceland
A 26-room countryside hotel by the glacial Hvítá river in Borgarfjörður, West Iceland, about 90 minutes' drive from Reykjavík and a short drive from Hraunfossar, Barnafoss, Deildartunguhver, Krauma and Reykholt.
All rooms have a private bathroom and free Wi-Fi; family rooms sleep up to four. Breakfast is included (07:00-09:00), and the on-site restaurant and bar serve dinner 18:00-22:00, so guests don't need to drive anywhere in the evening.
A heated outdoor pool with glass viewing walls is open all year, around the clock. There is no lifeguard, so guests swim at their own risk, and because the rooms are a few metres away we ask everyone to be considerate about noise.
Free parking. Check-in from 15:00 with self check-in (reception staffed 06:00-22:00), check-out by 11:00. Vending machines with snacks and cold drinks on site. Guests also have a shared guest kitchen, used by both the inn and Hvítá Trucks. Locally owned; part of the four-property Ourhotels collection in West Iceland and the Westfjords.
Best for: self-drive itineraries, aurora season, nature-focused travellers and multi-stop Iceland trips.
