About this experience

There are waterfalls, and then there is Dettifoss — a force of nature so powerful, it feels as though the land itself is exhaling. I've been visiting this place since childhood, and its raw power still moves me every time. Our journey begins in Akureyri and takes us eastward, with a stop at the elegant Goðafoss — a beautiful prelude to the drama ahead. We’ll pass through the volcanic landscapes of Lake Mývatn, where otherworldly textures begin to unfold, before continuing into the stark wilderness that surrounds Dettifoss. Here, at the edge of the Icelandic Highlands, the earth opens into a vast canyon and the river crashes below with unmatched force. It’s a place that feels more like another planet than anything you’ve seen on this one — and yet, deeply grounded in the soul of Iceland. This is a day for those drawn to untamed beauty, quiet awe, and landscapes that leave a lasting imprint.
