VISIT DETTIFOSS EUROPE’S MOST POWERFUL WATERFALL

Dettifoss Super-Jeep Tour from lake Mývatn in the north of Iceland. You will never forget seeing Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall in winter. This amazing 45m high and 100m wide waterfall shows you how powerful nature can be.

From Mývatn we drive for about an hour to Vatnajökull national park. There we start off by visiting Hafragilsfoss if snowfall and road conditions allow. Hafragilsfoss is a 27m high waterfall on the edge of Jökulsá canyon where it is 120m deep.

From Dettifoss parking we hike for about 2-3 km to visit Selfoss an 11m high waterfall and Dettifoss and then return to the jeep.

This rough landscape of basalt pillars and waterfalls is like something from another world.

On our way back we can stop at Mývatn Nature Baths.

Good to know

The weather in the highlands can change very fast so it is important to wear good hiking boots and dress warm. It is good to bring a waterproof outer shell along in case of snow or rain.

And if you want out because the forecast looks bad, that is your own cancellation: free until 1 day before departure, the operator's policy after that.
