Aldeyjarfoss waterfall has geologically interesting surroundings. Tumbling through a narrow passage into a wide basin, with black basalt columns that provide a stark contrast against the thrashing white foaming water, making it one of Iceland’s photographic gems. Aldeyjarfoss is one of most impressive waterfalls on the Skjálfandafljót River’s route from the Vatnajökull glacier.

It was a very long day, but his engaging commentary and great sense of humor made the time fly by.     Booked a snowmobile tour and had a wonderful time! The usual base didn’t have much snow so our guide, Bjorn, took us up to the top of some volcanoes and it was a very cool experience. Bjorn was friendly and interesting to talk to.
