About this experience
Explore the best of Iceland's natural and historical wonders on our Golden Circle Adventure. Visit Þingvellir National Park, this stunning rift valley is a testament to the power of plate tectonics, lying along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge where the North American and Eurasian plates meet. Here, you can witness the visible evidence of these plates pulling apart, a process that continues to shape Iceland's dramatic landscape.
Prepare to be utterly mesmerized by the mighty Strokkur geyser, a natural wonder that erupts with remarkable regularity, offering an awe-inspiring display of nature's power every few minutes. As we gather around Strokkur, anticipation builds with each rumble and hiss, until suddenly, with a mighty roar, the geyser erupts in a spectacular display of steam and water, reaching impressive heights that defy gravity.
Our journey through the Golden Circle leads us to Gullfoss, Iceland's breathtaking Golden Waterfall. Here, the meltwater from the massive Langjökull glacier crashes into the Hvítá river gorge, creating a dramatic and unforgettable display of power and beauty. As the water plummets in two distinct stages, it creates a stunning spectacle of swirling currents and misty spray. With its unique curves and golden hues, Gullfoss captivates visitors, leaving them in awe of nature's grandeur.
Langjökull, Iceland's "Long Glacier," is like nature's icy playground, stretching over 953 square kilometers in the highlands. Imagine a frozen wonderland where the ice cap reaches up to 1,450 meters high, hiding bubbling geothermal hotspots and sleeping volcanic giants beneath. Langjökull isn't just a glacier; it's a water factory, feeding rivers like the famous Hvítá, home to the stunning Gullfoss waterfall. Adventure seekers flock to Langjökull for its thrilling snowmobiling trails and magical ice caves that shimmer like crystal palaces. It's a place where you can feel the pulse of the earth beneath your feet and marvel at the ever-changing dance between fire and ice in Iceland's wild heart.

Cancellation for this tour
Free cancellation until 2 days before departure; no refund after that. If the operator cancels for weather or safety, you get a full refund or a new date.
If the weather cancels this tour
Iceland's weather is real. What usually stops this one is a whiteout or too little snow on the approach track — decided the evening before or on the morning. Here is exactly what happens to your booking.
- 1Amazing Tours Iceland decides, and tells us. Operators cancel when it is unsafe or pointless, and we back that call every time — we do not ask them to run anyway.
- 2We contact you by email, and by phone if your tour is the same or next day. You choose: another date if there is one you can make, or a full refund. There is no fee and nothing to argue.
- 3The refund goes back to the card you paid with, through Stripe, usually visible within a few working days. If this tour was one of several in your booking, the others are untouched.
What you do not get is the day back. If this is the only free day in your plan, put a spare day next to it — the planner leaves days free with the rest-day option. And if you want out because the forecast looks bad, that is your own cancellation: free until 2 days before departure, the operator's policy after that.

Sold out on your date?
Seats come back — a cancellation, or the operator adding a vehicle. Tell us the date and we will check once a day and email you if one opens. One email, then we delete the address; nothing else is ever sent to it.
Who this is not for
- Children under 8 cannot join this one.
- Priced per vehicle, so it is poor value for one or two people and good value for four or more sharing.
Read off the operator's own conditions. If none of it applies to you, this is a good one.

We personally had a great service (specifically Dominika ) from amazing tours. I emailed and dealt with them/her directly for a deal on 3 tours . Snowmobiling , helicopter and Northern lights. All were amazing! Northern lights are a natural occurrence and whilst seeing in bright green with the naked eye wasn't possible that night we did still see it faintly and the host was amazing and took some great shots and supplied some home made Coco 🤗the helicopter tour of the volcano area was so surreal! And the snowmobile tour was one of my favourite tours ever ! We got so lucky with snow the night before. Great tour operator and highly recommended !

My friend and I were looking forward to this tour the most for our girls trip to Iceland and we were not disappointed! This was one of the best tours I've done while traveling abroad and such a great value. Close out of any other tabs you have open for snowmobiling, this is it! Not rushed, fun ride up to the glacier where you change, and get on your snowmobile. After the first leg of snowmobiling, your guide will take you to a newly discovered ice cave...its truly beautiful! After that, you'll snowmobile back. Our tour was filled with laughs, jokes, and informative facts about the glacier, ice cave, etc. Please don't pass this one up!

My family enjoyed snowmobiling at the glacier. The view is amazing and the experience was one of a kind. They give you all the gear you need for the cold weather, which was nice. It is super cold at the top of the mountain, so hand and feet warmers are handy, if you could get some in advance!

Snowmobiling — questions people ask
Can you go snowmobiling in Iceland in summer?
Yes. Snowmobile tours run on Langjökull glacier all year because there is always snow on top. Tours leave from the Geysir area near Gullfoss (/experience/9999/), from Húsafell in the west, or from Reykjavík with transport (/experience/2874/). In June to August the snow is softer and the light is long; in winter the surface is firmer and the views are whiter. Both are fine. Weather cancels tours at any time of year.
Do I need a driving licence to drive a snowmobile?
Yes, a full valid driving licence to drive. Passengers do not need one and ride behind the driver. Standard pricing is two people per snowmobile; if you want to drive alone, most tours sell a single-rider supplement, and the tour page lists it. Minimum ages apply for passengers as well as drivers. Bring your physical licence card; a photo on your phone is sometimes refused.
What is included on a snowmobile tour?
The snowmobile, fuel, a helmet, balaclava, insulated overalls, gloves and boots, plus a guide leading the group across the glacier for roughly an hour of riding. Transport up the glacier from base camp in a modified truck is included; transport from Reykjavík is only included on the versions that say so. Bring your own warm base layers, sunglasses and a camera. Lunch is not included unless the page says it is.
Is snowmobiling worth combining with the Golden Circle?
If you have one spare day and want both, yes. The combined tour (/experience/17762/) does Þingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss then drives you up Langjökull for an hour on the snowmobiles, about ten hours in total. The downside is pace: the Golden Circle stops are shorter than on a plain sightseeing day. If you have two days, do the Golden Circle properly and snowmobile from Geysir on the second.
