Reykjaböð hot springs: Classic or Signature pass?
Reykjaböð in Reykjadalur sells a €58 Classic pass and a €116 Signature pass. Take Classic unless you want the bathhouse spa and a drink, and book ahead.

The short version
- Classic Admission is €58 for about two hours: hot springs, sauna, cold plunge, Kneipp pool and a towel. Minimum age 10.
- Signature Admission is €116 for about three hours and adds the bathhouse spa, a bathrobe, slippers and one drink at the in-water bar. Minimum age 18.
- Reykjaböð is in Reykjadalur, about 35 minutes from Reykjavík. Bookings only opened on 13 August 2026, so there are no reviews yet.
- Classic cancels free until 24 hours before; Signature until 48 hours.
Short answer: take the Classic pass at €58. It gets you into the same hot springs, the sauna, the cold plunge and the Kneipp pool as the Signature pass, and it costs half as much. Pay for Signature only if you want the bathhouse spa and a drink in the water, or if it is a treat for two adults.
What Reykjaböð is
It is a new hot spring spa in the Reykjadalur valley, near Hveragerði and about 35 minutes from Reykjavík. The operator opened bookings on 13 August 2026. That matters. There are no guest reviews on our listings yet, so we are going on what the operator says, not on what people have written. Judge it as a promising new place, not a proven one.
It is not the same thing as the hike to the hot river further up the valley. That is a walk and a free soak in a stream. This is a built spa with changing rooms and a bar.
The Classic pass
Hot Springs Pass, Classic Admission is €58 for about two hours. It includes entry to the hot springs, unlimited use of the outdoor ritual area (an event sauna, a cold plunge and a Kneipp pool), a wristband for your locker and payments, showers with soap, a hairdryer and a towel. Bring swimwear.
Minimum age is 10, so it works for families with older children. Free cancellation runs until 24 hours before. Slots start every half hour from 10:00 to 20:30, so you can fit it into most days without much planning.
The Signature pass
Hot Springs & Bathhouse Pass, Signature Admission is €116 for about three hours. You get everything in Classic, plus the Bathhouse Spa, a bathrobe and slippers, and a drink of your choice at the in-water bar.
Minimum age is 18, so children are out. Cancellation is free until 48 hours before, which is a day stricter than Classic. The extra €58 buys one more hour and a more private, quieter experience. Whether that is worth it is a matter of taste. If you do not know what a bathhouse spa adds for you, you probably do not need it.
How it compares with the other options
- Secret Lagoon is cheaper. VAREN Iceland’s Secret Lagoon ticket is €44, and it is the oldest pool in Iceland. It is simpler, with no sauna circuit.
- Sky Lagoon is nearer town and costs more, from €160 for the ticket we list. Our lagoon comparison goes through it.
- The hot river hike is the free-soak option. Hikers of Iceland’s northern lights hike to Reykjadalur is €98 and runs in the dark, which is a different evening. Sólhestar’s horse ride into the valley is €118. See our Reykjadalur guide for how those compare.
Booking and timing
There is no tour here. You book a time slot and get yourself there, so you need a car or a transfer. Reykjadalur is on the way to or from the Golden Circle and the South Coast, and it fits the end of a day on either. An evening slot after a long driving day is the best use of it.
Book ahead in summer. We do not know yet how busy a new place gets, and a spa of this kind sells out when it is good.
Our honest take
Book Classic. For €58 you get the full circuit of hot water, sauna and cold plunge, and two hours is enough for most people before the skin starts to wrinkle. Signature is a nice upgrade for a couple on an anniversary or a rest day, and the drink is included, which softens the price. For everyone else it is €58 for a bathrobe.
The honest downside is that the place is new. We cannot point to reviews, and we have not seen how it copes with a full car park in August. If you want a proven soak, go to the Secret Lagoon for €44. If you want something new and nearer Reykjavík than the Blue Lagoon, Classic is a fair bet, and free cancellation until 24 hours before means a bad forecast does not cost you anything.
