“goHusky is an Icelandic family owned husky company. We have a wonderful woodland, close to our home, just outside Akureyri. We love to take our guest on dogsledding tours in the wintertime and hiking & visiting all year around.”

This was such a great experience, both my teenage children rated this as the best experience of the holiday :) The dogs are super friendly! We picked the hike with husky (visited in June), and it was a lot different than I imagined (walking a dog in the forest). The biggest surprise is how strong the dogs are. They pull you with incredible strength :) At the end of the 1-hour hike, you get another 1-hour of petting husky and visiting the house. The owners are very friendly and with many funny stories to share. They have 30 husky dogs, they know all of them by name and ancestry, and you can see they really love their dogs.

We had a fantastic time hiking with the huskies. Gunni and Mara are fantastic hosts, and the dogs are treated as family. Dogs are very friendly and love being petted. One of the highlights of my holiday. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

Amazing experience with 30 huskies you get to pat. I went on the cart and the sled and both were great. They were comfortable and I felt very safe. The scenery is amazing and the owners are very friendly, knowledgeable and clearly love what they do and love all of their dogs. Afterward being out we went inside for hot chocolate and to learn some more about the dogs and the wool they make out of their hair. Highly recommend!

My girlfriend had taken me here as a surprise trip and i couldn’t have been more grateful. we were welcomed with a choir of howls and greeted by a very genuine couple María and Gunnar. The hike was about an hour with a beautiful scenery. Very easy even if you're an inexperienced hiker and/or dog walker. Gunnar had taken us through a tour where we talked about his dogs, how they were/are trained, iclandic culture and even our personal endeavors. After the walk we were welcomed into their home with the pups for a tour and some refreshments. Delicious hot chocolate btw. You can tell how much Gunnar and María love their pups. It was genuinely the best part of my trip here in iceland. Id recommend this trip to anyone considering traveling here even if it’s hours away. It is worth it.

Questions about booking goHusky

Is it cheaper to book goHusky directly?

No. We sell goHusky's tours at the price they set, through their own booking system, so the seat costs the same here as on their site. What you get here in addition is one checkout for every tour in your trip, whoever runs it, and one place to turn if plans change.

Does goHusky pick up from hotels?

7 of their 7 tours include a pickup service. Each tour page says which, and pickup is chosen at checkout.

What is goHusky's cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start. The exact window is printed on every tour page and in your confirmation, and a refund goes back to the card you paid with.

Where do goHusky tours start?

Their departures we sell start from Akureyri. Check the map on each tour page for the exact meeting point.

Which languages are goHusky tours guided in?

Their tours are guided in Icelandic and English, according to their own product records. Where a tour is audio-guided rather than led by a person, the tour page says so.

How is goHusky rated?

5.0 out of 5 on Google from 197 reviews of the company. That is the operator's score, not a rating of any one tour; our own guests' reviews of their tours, where we have them, are shown on this page and on the tour pages.

Not sure which of these fits your dates? The planner checks real departures and builds the day around them.
