About this experience

Is a dog sledding trip on your bucket list? We are always willing to explore options and tailor the trip to your ideas, as long as it is reasonable.

Set close to Akureyri, surrounded by beautiful mountains and the biggest fjord in Iceland, it's the perfect location. With these incredible landscapes around you covered in a blanket of snow during the winter months, you will feel relaxed and at ease as you are pulled along by the huskies.

Our tours start from our doorsteps and take you up into the woodland around our home. While you sit back and take in the beautiful surroundings, and the power of the huskies pulling you through the country side, your musher will tell you everything you need to know about dog sledding, how it works, their experience as a musher, more about the dogs' personalities, all the while answering all your questions about the huskies and Iceland.

After the sledding you are welcome into our home, where the huskies live. You can have coffee, tea or hot chocolate and of course lots of husky kisses. Huskies are among the friendliest breeds of dogs and love to cuddle. These warm animals love to meet new people and will, of course, expect a belly rub and some attention. The huskies are all just as cute as you'd imagine, and each has its distinct personality.

This was such a great experience, both my teenage children rated this as the best experience of the holiday :) The dogs are super friendly! We picked the hike with husky (visited in June), and it was a lot different than I imagined (walking a dog in the forest). The biggest surprise is how strong the dogs are. They pull you with incredible strength :) At the end of the 1-hour hike, you get another 1-hour of petting husky and visiting the house. The owners are very friendly and with many funny stories to share. They have 30 husky dogs, they know all of them by name and ancestry, and you can see they really love their dogs.

Amazing experience with 30 huskies you get to pat. I went on the cart and the sled and both were great. They were comfortable and I felt very safe. The scenery is amazing and the owners are very friendly, knowledgeable and clearly love what they do and love all of their dogs. Afterward being out we went inside for hot chocolate and to learn some more about the dogs and the wool they make out of their hair. Highly recommend!

My girlfriend had taken me here as a surprise trip and i couldn’t have been more grateful. we were welcomed with a choir of howls and greeted by a very genuine couple María and Gunnar. The hike was about an hour with a beautiful scenery. Very easy even if you're an inexperienced hiker and/or dog walker. Gunnar had taken us through a tour where we talked about his dogs, how they were/are trained, iclandic culture and even our personal endeavors. After the walk we were welcomed into their home with the pups for a tour and some refreshments. Delicious hot chocolate btw. You can tell how much Gunnar and María love their pups. It was genuinely the best part of my trip here in iceland. Id recommend this trip to anyone considering traveling here even if it’s hours away. It is worth it.

Akureyri Airport transfer: bus, shuttle or privateAkureyri Airport is a few minutes from town. A seat on the flight bus costs about €11 to €18; a private car is from €240 and only makes sense for a group.
