As the Super Jeep climbs closer to the mountains, the scenery transforms dramatically. Soon, we’ll reach the geothermal heart of Kerlingarfjöll – a surreal world of steaming fumaroles, bubbling mud pots and colorful rhyolite peaks. Before heading back to Reykjavík, we’ll make one last stop at Gullfoss – Iceland’s “Golden Waterfall.” Its thundering cascades plunging into a rugged canyon are the perfect finale to a day filled with the raw beauty of the Highlands.
