About this experience
Explore the unique geothermal and coastal wonders of Iceland on our Reykjanes Peninsula Adventure. Begin at Seltún, a colorful geothermal area where steam vents hiss, mud pools bubble, and mineral rich earth glows in vivid reds, yellows, and blues. This otherworldly landscape offers an up close glimpse into the raw energy of Iceland’s volcanic forces, making it a truly mesmerizing first stop.
Next, we visit the charming fishing town of Grindavík, where colorful harbor boats and salty sea air meet rugged volcanic terrain. The town sits remarkably close to recent volcanic eruptions, giving it a thrilling edge while still maintaining its peaceful, authentic coastal character. Here, you can feel the connection between Iceland’s natural power and the life of the communities that thrive alongside it.
Our journey continues to Brimketill, a dramatic lava rock pool carved over centuries by pounding ocean waves. Perched at the edge of rugged cliffs, the dark lava formations contrast beautifully with the foaming surf, creating a striking and photogenic display of nature’s artistry.
At Gunnuhver, the landscape shifts to one of Iceland’s most intense geothermal areas. Steam vents billow, and mud pools bubble vigorously, creating a dynamic, almost otherworldly scene. The sheer scale and heat of this geothermal field showcase the incredible forces constantly shaping the island beneath our feet.
We then stop at Reykjanes Lighthouse, Iceland’s oldest working lighthouse, standing proudly atop Bæjarfell hill. From here, visitors can take in the dramatic volcanic terrain and feel the enduring presence of the island’s maritime history. The nearby visitor center tells the story of shipwrecks, lightkeepers, and the lighthouse’s century long role guiding ships safely along Iceland’s rugged coast.
Finally, we arrive at the Bridge Between Continents, a symbolic footbridge spanning the rift where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Step across and literally stand between two continents, surrounded by black lava fields and the raw, ever changing Icelandic landscape, a remarkable reminder of the forces that continue to shape this island.
From steaming geothermal fields to volcanic coastlines and the meeting point of continents, this journey offers a full day of adventure, awe inspiring scenery, and unforgettable Icelandic experiences.

If the weather cancels this tour
Iceland's weather is real. What usually stops this one is closed roads — the Road Administration shuts the mountain roads before the operator has to decide anything. Here is exactly what happens to your booking.
- 1Amazing Tours Iceland decides, and tells us. Operators cancel when it is unsafe or pointless, and we back that call every time — we do not ask them to run anyway.
- 2We contact you by email, and by phone if your tour is the same or next day. You choose: another date if there is one you can make, or a full refund. There is no fee and nothing to argue.
- 3The refund goes back to the card you paid with, through Stripe, usually visible within a few working days. If this tour was one of several in your booking, the others are untouched.
What you do not get is the day back. If this is the only free day in your plan, put a spare day next to it — the planner leaves days free with the rest-day option. And if you want out because the forecast looks bad, that is your own cancellation: free until 2 days before departure, the operator's policy after that.

Sold out on your date?
Seats come back — a cancellation, or the operator adding a vehicle. Tell us the date and we will check once a day and email you if one opens. One email, then we delete the address; nothing else is ever sent to it.
Who this is not for
- Children under 8 cannot join this one.
- Priced per vehicle, so it is poor value for one or two people and good value for four or more sharing.
Read off the operator's own conditions. If none of it applies to you, this is a good one.

We personally had a great service (specifically Dominika ) from amazing tours. I emailed and dealt with them/her directly for a deal on 3 tours . Snowmobiling , helicopter and Northern lights. All were amazing! Northern lights are a natural occurrence and whilst seeing in bright green with the naked eye wasn't possible that night we did still see it faintly and the host was amazing and took some great shots and supplied some home made Coco 🤗the helicopter tour of the volcano area was so surreal! And the snowmobile tour was one of my favourite tours ever ! We got so lucky with snow the night before. Great tour operator and highly recommended !

My friend and I were looking forward to this tour the most for our girls trip to Iceland and we were not disappointed! This was one of the best tours I've done while traveling abroad and such a great value. Close out of any other tabs you have open for snowmobiling, this is it! Not rushed, fun ride up to the glacier where you change, and get on your snowmobile. After the first leg of snowmobiling, your guide will take you to a newly discovered ice cave...its truly beautiful! After that, you'll snowmobile back. Our tour was filled with laughs, jokes, and informative facts about the glacier, ice cave, etc. Please don't pass this one up!

My family enjoyed snowmobiling at the glacier. The view is amazing and the experience was one of a kind. They give you all the gear you need for the cold weather, which was nice. It is super cold at the top of the mountain, so hand and feet warmers are handy, if you could get some in advance!

- Blue Lagoon on the way in or the way out — pair it with your airport transferThe Blue Lagoon is twenty minutes from Keflavík. Soak on arrival day or departure day, and why we'd do it on the way in almost every time.
- Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon or Secret Lagoon — pick by what your day looks likeThree hot lagoons near Reykjavík, three very different days. We say which one fits an airport day, a city evening and a Golden Circle loop.
- Bolt the Secret Lagoon onto the Golden Circle, not the Blue LagoonSecret Lagoon, Blue Lagoon or Fontana as the hot-water finish to a Golden Circle day. Which is on the route, which fits the budget, which to book separately.

Super jeeps — questions people ask
What is a super jeep?
A four-wheel-drive truck or van rebuilt for Iceland: raised suspension, huge low-pressure tyres and a snorkel, so it can cross rivers, drive on snow and climb glacier tracks that stop a rental car. Groups are small, usually eight to sixteen people. Super jeeps are how you reach Landmannalaugar in the highlands, ice caves under Mýrdalsjökull and dark northern-lights spots off the main roads. They are pricier than a coach, and rougher.
Is a super jeep northern lights tour better than a bus?
Slightly, for two reasons. A super jeep can leave the tarmac and find darker, more sheltered spots, and with ten people rather than fifty you spend less time waiting at stops. Arctic Adventures' Northern Lights Explorer (/experience/209/) and Northern Lights by 4x4 (/experience/1088067/) are the standard options. The sky is the same either way; a jeep does not make clouds part. If budget matters, a small-group minibus gets you most of the benefit.
When can you take a super jeep to Landmannalaugar?
Late June to September, once the highland roads open. The Landmannalaugar Safari (/experience/341/) is a twelve-hour day from Reykjavík with river crossings, a short hike and a soak in the natural hot river. The rest of the year the road is closed to everything except specially licensed winter expeditions. The dates the F-roads open vary each year with the snow, so if you are booking for June, expect a possible reschedule.
Is a super jeep tour comfortable?
Comfortable enough on the tarmac, bumpy on the rough stuff. That is the point. Expect to be thrown about on lava tracks and river beds, and to sit in a bench seat for several hours. People prone to motion sickness should sit in front and take a tablet. The trade-off is access: you see places coaches cannot go, with a driver-guide who talks to you rather than over a microphone.
