Sneaker waves kill people here

The waves at Reynisfjara arrive without warning, run far further up the beach than the ones before them, and the undertow is strong enough that people who are knocked over do not get back. Several visitors have died. Stay well back from the water, never turn your back on it, and read the warning signs at the car park — they are colour-coded to the day's conditions.
