About this experience

Start your journey home the relaxed way. Book your Fast Pass, tell us your airline and flight number, and KEF Airport whitelists your boarding pass for the Fast Track security lane.

On departure day, walk past the main security queue — the Fast Track lane is to the left of the regular line. Scan your boarding pass at the Fast Track gate and go straight through. No vouchers to print, nothing to collect: your boarding pass is your key.

How it works:

1. Book your Fast Pass and include your airline and flight number.

2. KEF Airport whitelists your boarding pass for the Fast Track lane.

3. On departure day, head to the Fast Track gate to the left of the regular security queue, scan your boarding pass and walk straight through.

This official Fast Track service is provided in co-operation with the KEF airport authorities and works on all flights departing from Keflavik International Airport. Each Fast Pass covers one passenger on one flight — if your trip includes more than one flight, or your group is split across flights, book a separate pass for each.

Flying Icelandair or Neos? Fast Pass pairs naturally with BagBee's airline check-in service: check in online with your airline, then meet your driver in Reykjavik with your passport and boarding card. Your bags are checked through to your final destination, and you get a photo of your suitcases on the conveyor belt. Arrive at the airport bag-free — and with Fast Pass, you skip the security queue too. Straight to the gate, no bags, no line.

What a genius business idea with excellent follow-through. So many travelers have super early flights or late afternoon/evening flights and don’t know what to do with their luggage in the in-between check-in for their accommodations. We were able to use BagBee the night before getting off our cruise and enjoy our last day in Reykjavik before our flight luggage-free. Communication was excellent, price was great. Such a huge help to travelers who want to explore without dragging around giant suitcases!

Process was simple just dropped off our bags with the Bag Bee staff it was that simple. Highly recommend.. Allowed us to bypass the headache at the airport of having to wait till 3 hours prior to your flight check our bags in. We were able to proceed directly to the duty free area & gate areas..

BagBee is a wonderful company to deal with. My travel companions and I needed our luggage picked up from the Midbakki pier while we spent our last day touring Reykjavik. They provided excellent service. They took our check in luggage straight to the airport and checked them in for us, and at our request, held our hand carryon luggage at the BSI terminal to. pick up on our way to the airport. They answered emails promptly and provided pictures of luggage location every step of the way. The employees are vetted by the police and must complete airport compliance training, also. I highly recommend using them.

Airport transfers — questions people ask

How do I get from Keflavík Airport to Reykjavík?

It is about 50 kilometres and 45 minutes by road; there is no train. Scheduled airport coaches run to the BSÍ terminal after every arrival and are the cheapest option. Private transfers (/experience/942190/, /experience/1193487/) meet you at the door and drop you at your hotel, worth it for families or late arrivals. Taxis are expensive. If you are stopping at the Blue Lagoon, book a transfer that includes it (/experience/1036423/).

How early should I be at Keflavík Airport for my flight?

Two and a half hours before a European flight and three before North America; the airport is small and queues bunch around the morning and afternoon departure waves. From central Reykjavík allow 45 to 60 minutes' driving plus a buffer in winter weather. That means leaving your hotel three and a half to four hours before departure. Coaches and transfers work backwards from your flight time when you book.

How do I get to Landmannalaugar without a 4x4?

By highland bus. From late June to September, scheduled transfers run from Reykjavík to Landmannalaugar (/experience/247406/, /experience/914986/) and back, about four hours each way on gravel and river crossings. The return-in-a-day option (/experience/270187/) gives you several hours at the site. Rental cars without 4x4 are not insured on these roads and get stuck. If you are hiking Laugavegur, the luggage transfer (/experience/1036525/) moves your bag hut to hut.

Is a private airport transfer worth it?

For three or more people, or a night arrival, yes. The coach drops you at a terminal or a hotel bus stop and you may need a shuttle or a walk with luggage; a private car goes door to door and waits if your flight is late. For a couple on a daytime flight with light bags, the coach is fine and much cheaper. Check the tour page for what happens if your flight is delayed.
