Luggage storage and baggage transport in Reykjavík
Storage at BSI is from €12 a bag. Having bags checked in at your hotel and sent to Keflavík is from €65. Here is who each one suits.

The short version
- Luggage storage at the BSI bus terminal desk is from €12 for one day, priced per bag.
- Airline check-in from your hotel or home is from €65 per bag, for Icelandair and Neos flights only.
- Baggage transport from your hotel to Keflavík is also from €65, works with every airline, and you check the bags in yourself.
- The BSI desk is staffed in summer. Our listing says winter travellers should use the self-service lockers instead.
- Fast Pass for Keflavík security is from €22 per passenger per flight.
You land early, or fly out late, and the hotel will not let you into a room. There are three sensible fixes. Store the bags in town for about €12 each. Send them to Keflavík ahead of you for €65 a bag. Or check them in for you at the hotel, which costs the same and only works on two airlines. Most travellers need the first. The other two are for people with a long last day and a tight schedule.
Storage in town
BagBee runs a staffed desk inside the BSI bus terminal, where the Flybus airport shuttle stops. Reykjavík Luggage Storage in BSI is from €12 and covers one day per bag. You hand your bag to a person, not a locker.
Summer is the key detail. The listing says the staffed desk is open daily through the summer season, and that winter travellers should use self-service lockers instead. Check the hours for your date on the booking page. You can add a late pick-up at booking if you collect after closing. Free cancellation runs until two hours before.
This suits cruise-ship days, an early arrival, or a checkout at 11:00 with a flight at 21:00. You can then spend the day in town with a small bag. Our layover guide builds a day around it.
Checked in at your door
BagBee’s Airline Check-In from Hotels or Homes is from €65 per bag. A driver collects your bags the evening before, or the morning of, your flight. They check your passport and boarding card, tag the bags through to your final destination and drive them to Keflavík. You get a photo when they arrive.
Two limits matter. It works for Icelandair and Neos only, and you must check in online first. It is priced per bag, and odd-size items such as skis, golf bags, bike boxes and strollers cost the same.
Pickups run from 08:30 to 11:30 and from 17:00 to 21:00. Bags can be checked in up to 24 hours before your flight. You then travel to Keflavík without bags and go straight to security.
Bags sent ahead, you check them in
BagBee’s Baggage Transport from Hotel to KEF Airport is also from €65 per bag. You leave the bags at hotel reception before 11:00. A driver takes them to the airport, and you meet the driver there at a time you chose. It works with every airline, but you do the check-in yourself, with the driver’s help at the desk.
This is the one to pick if you are not on Icelandair or Neos. It suits a last morning that is a whale boat or a lagoon visit, then a bus or a taxi to the airport with nothing heavy.
The security queue
KEF Airport Fast Pass is from €22 per passenger. KEF whitelists your boarding pass for the Fast Track security lane. One pass covers one passenger on one flight. It pairs with bag drop: no bags, no check-in desk, a shorter queue.
It is only worth it when the security queue is your risk. At quiet hours the saving is small.
Which one
| Situation | Pick |
|---|---|
| Early arrival or long last day in town | Storage at BSI |
| Icelandair or Neos, late flight, hotel far from the bus | Check-in at your door |
| Any other airline, last morning in town | Baggage transport |
| Busy departure bank in summer | Add Fast Pass |
Our honest take
Most people don’t need any of these. If your hotel holds bags for free, use that. Storage at €12 is cheap for a day of freedom in town, and it is the best value here.
The €65 services are for a specific problem: a long final day with nothing to do with the bags. Per-bag pricing climbs fast for a family of four. Two bags each is €520. At that point a private transfer with the luggage on board, see our airport transfer guide, is usually cheaper and simpler.
